Cape York 2022

Episode #1 Cooktown

We started filming in Cooktown and it seemed like the perfect place to rest and reset before taking on the Old Coach Road. While we were in Cooktown we took in some of the sights and history this epic little town is famous for. We also travel a few kilometres south to check out Archer's Point.

Episode #4 Jardine River / Punsand Bay / Pajinka

After completing the most epics tracks on the Peninsula we were all in need of some respite and we still needed to visit Pajinka. We had camped on the Jardine River and woken up to the locals back burning near by and the smoke over the river created the most epic scenery for our breakfast. After packing up camp we moved onto Punsand Bay for some rest and relaxation before heading to Pajinka for sunset.

Episode #2 Old Coach Road

The Old Coach Road is the heralded as "the most difficult 4x4 track on the Peninsula, and maybe, Australia". At only 76km long you would think it would be a cake-walk but even when you aren't filming it will take 6 - 9 hours flat chat. It took us the best part of 2 days to complete the track safely while filming. The guys from BKO definitely did an outstanding job keeping out of danger and doing zero damage to the vehicles.

Episode #5 Frenchman's Track

Our last mission was to tackle the Frenchman's Track. We has heard from some fellow travellers that the Pascoe River was the most difficult challenge of the season. Many vehicles were coming under stuck on the strong flow and deep water. We had not committed to making the pass but were determined to check it out for ourselves. All I will say is that it was totally worth it and the best way to finish a flawless journey.

Episode #3 Old Telegraph Track

Easily the most iconic of the Cape York Peninsula 4x4 tracks, the Old Tele Track was the one we were all waiting for. We had by this point conquerored the OCR and found ourselves a groove. It also took us about 2 days to complete with filming and once again the crew from BKO were able to transverse the rugged conditions with practically no damage. The OTT is much more picturesque than the OCR which provided the most amazing backdrop for the vehicles. It is hard to believe that during our whole journey on the OCR and OTT we didn't come across any traffic and pretty much had the place to ourselves.
